David
was born in Burnley, a small town in northern England, in a miner's family. However,
David's mother sang and his grandmother played the piano, so David inherited their
talent. Readman left his study at school at 15 to go to work, but at the same
time he had established several rock bands such as Alander, Sixmyth, Splatterpunk
and played in local clubs. In 1989, at his 19, David entered Nelson and Colne
Music College, where he studied professional singing. He left the college two
years later but remained in London. David did not thought about devoting himself
to music seriously but during his travel to picnic his friend was impressed about
Readman singing of Led Zeppelin classics. Following his friend's advice, David
started recording of multiple demo tapes and send them to advertisements he found
at English magazine "Melody Maker". Readman was invited for audition
and work by Adrian Smith from Iron Maiden, a piano virtuoso Thomas McRocklin,
guitarist Misha Calvin, who later released a demo without the consent of David.
One of the advertisements in response to which David sent out his demo was given
by German band Pink Cream 69. June 17, 1994, David flew out to Germany for
audition. Both David and The Pinkies was agreed for collaboration right after
the first meeting. In November he signed a contract, and since then he began his
vocal duties at Pink Cream 69. In June 2000, at a concert in France, David
met Stephan Forte and their collaboration resulted in progressive power metal
band Adagio. At the same time The Pinkies began working on their EP "Mixery"
in the Dennis Ward's studio "House of Audio". David had to work one
day with PC69 and another one with Adagio - fortunately, the producer of Adagio's
album was also Dennis Ward. The first Adagio CD "Sanctus Ignus" was
released in late June 2001. Together with Dennis Ward David has participated
in another project. Rock opera "Missa Mercuria", where David performed
narrator's text and sang three songs, was released in November 2002 in Germany.
Second album of Adagio "Underworld" was released in November 2003.
In early 2004, David went on a tour with Adagio in France and Belgium, and two
weeks after the end of this tour he was already on the road again - now with The
Pinkies. In 2004, David has released his last album up to date with Adagio "A
Band in Upperworld". On August 31, 2007, David released his first solo
album "David Readman". He wrote and recorded the material for this album
in 2006. Then he was interrupted to record "In10sity" with Pink Cream
69, and finally David finished his solo work by February 2007. David participates
in a plenty of projects and performes frequently at various clubs in Germany.
Some time ago, David has collaborated with Alex Beyrodt, and in the spring of
2008 they have created a very successful hard-rock project Voodoo Circle. Also,
David has his own studio "Emerald" in Karlsruhe area, where he is producing
and giving vocal, guitar and studio work lessons. In addition to his singing
in PC69 Readman wrote most of the texts and music of several songs. Since
1994 David lives in Karlsruhe area, but he visits England often. Article
